Our foundation

Promise Theological Seminary is governed by a Board of Directors and is a duly constituted nonprofit organization, incorporated as a religious school in the United States, with tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the tax code.

Graduates of our biblical and theological studies program have the opportunity to continue master's studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS), thanks to the recognition of our curriculum.

Our accreditation is ministerial and not government-validated, and we hold strategic partnership agreements with several institutions, among them:

  • BTCP: (Bible Training Centre for Pastors), which provides the foundation of our curriculum.
  • ACTOS: (Asociación Cristiana de Teología y Trabajo Social – Cruzada Internacional), an international nonprofit missionary and philanthropic organization, founded in 2009 and registered under Portuguese law. ACTOS exists to provide educational training for evangelical churches in Europe.
  • JUNAMI: (Junta Nacional de Misiones de Brasil), which has invested for years in evangelism and in training pastors, missionaries and national and cross-cultural workers.

This collaborative approach allows us to offer solid, relevant theological training that equips leaders to serve in their communities and beyond.

Vision

To be a school of theological training that equips men and women of God to reach their communities with the message of the Gospel.

Mission

To equip leaders of faith with practical, accessible theological training so they can fulfill the Great Commission.

Statement of faith

Promise Theological Seminary affirms the supreme authority of the Holy Scriptures and stands within the historic, evangelical Christian tradition. We believe that the sixty-six books of the Bible are the Word of God — inspired, infallible and sufficient — and our final authority for doctrine, faith and conduct.

We believe in one living and true God, who exists eternally in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, who died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, rose bodily and will return; and in the Holy Spirit, who regenerates, indwells and sanctifies every believer. Salvation is entirely the work of God's grace: it is received by faith in Christ, and good works are its fruit, never its foundation.

We believe in the Church gathered under the authority of the Word, in marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman, and in the dignity of every human life as created in the image of God. We exist to form leaders who can interpret the Scriptures rightly, teach sound doctrine and multiply disciples among the nations.
