Terms and conditions
These terms explain the conditions under which you may use this website and what you can expect from us. By browsing it, sending us a form, opening an account or making a payment, you accept what is described here.
This site belongs to Promise Theological Seminary, 4615 Oak Hill Rd, Evansville, IN 47711, United States.
1. What this site offers
The site presents information about our programs of biblical and theological training, publishes articles, receives requests for information and admission, lets you open an account, and leads to PayPal's platform for subscription payments and donations.
The information published here is for information purposes. The details that define your enrollment — program, length, cost, calendar and requirements — are the ones the seminary confirms to you in writing.
2. Your account
To open an account you must give us truthful information and keep it up to date. Your credentials are personal: do not share them, and tell us as soon as you can if you think someone else is using your account.
You may close your account whenever you wish. We may suspend or close an account used for activities contrary to these terms or that puts the site or other people at risk, and we will tell you why.
3. Requests for information and admission
Sending a form is a request, not an enrollment. Receiving it does not guarantee you a place in the program, nor does it commit the seminary to admitting you.
Requirements vary by program and include completing the admissions process. Your enrollment is formalized when the seminary confirms it in writing.
4. Program payments
Program payments are made by monthly subscription through PayPal, in United States dollars. By subscribing you also accept PayPal's terms; PayPal processes the charge and holds your payment details.
The price published on each program page is the one that applies to that subscription. If a price changes, we will announce it before applying it, and the change will not affect installments already charged.
You may cancel the subscription at any time from your PayPal account. Before doing so, write to us at info@promisetheologicalseminary.org so we can sort out where you stand academically: cancellations and refunds are governed by the conditions the seminary gives you in writing at the time of enrollment.
We have scholarships and payment plans. If cost is an obstacle, write to us before giving up on it.
5. Donations
Donations are processed through the seminary's PayPal button. They are voluntary, they do not entitle you to goods or services, and they go toward sustaining the training of pastors and leaders.
Promise Theological Seminary is a nonprofit organization incorporated as a religious school in the United States, with current tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the tax code. Donations may be tax deductible in the United States to the extent allowed by law; if that matters to your decision, check with your tax advisor, since it depends on your particular circumstances.
If you need a receipt for your donation, write to us at info@promisetheologicalseminary.org.
6. About our accreditation
The seminary offers ministerial accreditation that is not government-validated, recognized by partner institutions such as the Bible Training Centre for Pastors (BTCP), and it allows graduates to continue master's studies at institutions such as Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS).
We say this plainly so that you can decide with your eyes open: if what you are aiming for depends on a qualification officially recognized by a particular education authority, talk to us before enrolling and check with that authority as well.
7. Content and intellectual property
The texts, images, study materials and other content on this site belong to Promise Theological Seminary or are used with permission, except where another source is indicated.
You may read, download and print them for your personal study and for your ministry, and quote them with attribution. To reproduce them commercially, redistribute them as your own, or use them at another institution, you need our written permission.
Bible quotations in our Spanish materials come from the Reina-Valera 1960 version unless otherwise indicated.
8. Acceptable use
In using this site you agree not to:
- Send false information, impersonate another person, or use someone else's account.
- Use the forms to send advertising, bulk messages or offensive content.
- Attempt to access areas, accounts or data that are not yours.
- Interfere with the running of the site, overload it, or introduce malicious code.
- Copy the content in order to publish it as your own or for commercial purposes without permission.
9. Links and third-party services
The site links to or embeds services we do not control: PayPal for payments and donations, the map of our location, WhatsApp for messaging us, and our Facebook and YouTube pages. Each is governed by its own terms and its own privacy policy, and we are not responsible for their content or their availability.
10. Availability of the site
We aim to keep the site available and its information correct and current. Even so, there may be interruptions for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control, and there may be occasional errors in the content. If you find one, tell us and we will correct it.
The seminary is not liable for damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the site, except where the law does not allow such exclusion. Nothing stated here limits your rights as a consumer where the applicable law recognizes them.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the site or to our processes. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with its revision date at the top. If a change is significant we will announce it; if you continue using the site afterwards, we take it that you accept the new version.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana and of the United States of America, where the seminary has its headquarters. Before turning to any other forum, write to us: almost everything can be resolved by talking it through.
13. How to contact us
